This project required a clever design solution. The client initially favoured replacing the original decking for a large turfed area spanning the width of the garden. Of course this was a possibility, but the topography of the site meant that extensive groundworks would have been necessary, which was not ideal given the client was on a budget (something we can all sympathise with!).
Our solution was to construct an L shape decking which would cover the most severely sloped portion of the garden, thus reducing the need for major groundworks or retaining walls to support the new soil and turf.
On removal of the old decking, we were pleasantly surprised by the condition and construction of the old frame (kudos unknown landscaping company from the past!). So with the client’s budget in mind, we set about restoring the frame to full health, replacing structures where necessary. Finally, we levelled the ground, laid the turf, and capped it all off with a stylish railway sleeper planter.

A project like this does not end when construction stops. We provide important aftercare and support to ensure effective watering and maintenance of the newly laid lawn. If the advice is adhered to you’ll end up with a luscious new lawn, as seen in the last picture of the series taken 2 weeks after construction ended.
A great project to be a part of! The client realised that their outdoor space was not suitable for a young child, so we were briefed with creating a fun, functional and safe place for the family. The uncompromising patio was replaced with a large section of artificial grass, new fencing was constructed and the existing steps were freshened up with some new timber and a handrail. For safety we installed a simple front facing fence with a latched gate.

We enjoy incorporating new and creative elements into our builds. If you have something in mind, just ask! If your idea is unique and we haven’t built it before, that’s an exciting prospect. We do our research and get a buzz from developing new ideas.
Our favourite element of this build? Definitely the climbing wall, constructed from high quality marine plywood, and modelled by Andy in the final picture of the series.
This was one of our first jobs, and we look back on it with a great deal of fondness. The original space was dominated by four large conifer trees, the fencing was on its last legs, and due to the slope of the garden, it was pretty unusable.
Removing the trees effectively doubled the size of the garden, and by levelling the top portion of the garden we were able to lay a new patio and create a lovely space for this couple to enjoy their approaching retirement.

We build, but we also design! We have a good eye for what makes a space enjoyable and aesthetically pleasing, and we enjoy talking to our clients about the possibilities. We don’t try to give you the ‘hard sell’, and we do not charge for this advice. On this project our initial brief was for a patio, however our discussions with the client allowed them to see the potential in the remaining space, which led to the construction of a decking, potted plant areas, extra privacy fencing and a new gate.
The old gate had definitely seen better days! We quickly disposed of that and constructed a bespoke gate with a sleek outer frame, and a Yale lock for maximum security.

Well known suppliers will not always stock gates to the dimensions that you require. We can create bespoke gates and garage doors to fit any gap, and will talk you through a variety of alternative locking systems and framing styles.
